Located at the southern tip of Pamban Island, Dhanushkodi is a hauntingly beautiful abandoned town where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean. It remains a "Ghost Town" following a massive cyclone in 1964.

History of Dhanushkodi
Once a flourishing trade town with a railway station and post office, it was declared "unfit for living" by the Government of Madras after the 1964 storm. It is also religiously significant as the spot where Lord Rama is said to have built the Rama Setu bridge.
